The day was filled with faith, inspiration, and heartfelt gratitude as 450 young minds were honored for their perseverance, excellence, and Marian spirit.
The celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic Mass presided over by His Excellency, Most Rev. Jose S. Palma, D.D., Archbishop of Cebu, together with concelebrating priests, offering prayers of thanksgiving and blessings for the graduates as they step into a new chapter of life. The Mass served as a spiritual reminder of the school's mission to form not only competent learners but also faith-filled individuals.
Following the Mass was the graduation proper, where 450 candidates for graduation were formally presented by Sr. Maria Chelo S. Marikit, SM, School Principal, and confirmed by Dr. Christine A. Paquibot, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Talisay City Division. This moment marked the official recognition of the students' completion of their senior high school education.
During the program, Special Awards and Academic Excellence Awards were given to students who excelled in academics, leadership, and service. Nica S. Arilla, through her leadership, was awarded with leadership award and Niña Joy C. Roble, with her wit and prowess both in academic and technical skills, finished as the most outstanding graduate.
The event was graced by the presence of Mother Elena G. Belarmino, SM, School Directress, Hon. Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr., Talisay City Mayor and other honored guests adding further honor to this significant milestone.
The graduates were especially inspired by Dr. Helmae E. Tapanan, SHS Principal of USJR-Basak and an esteemed alumna of SMS-Girlstown, who delivered the keynote address. Her message, grounded in experience and purpose, encouraged the students to pursue their dreams while remaining anchored in faith, humility, and service.
Representing the batch, Niña Joy C. Roble, expressed heartfelt thanks in her Words of Gratitude, acknowledging the legacy of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz, support of sisters, teachers, parents, and the entire school community.
The Pledge of Loyalty was then led by Kuya Kart Victor A. Lagustan, Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of ASMSI-International and President of the ASMI-Cebu, as the graduates pledged to uphold the values and mission of the school.
The ceremony concluded with the singing of the Alma Mater Song, symbolizing unity, love, and lifelong connection to the Marian community. As the Class of 2025 moves forward, they carry not only their accomplishments but the unwavering spirit of Sisters of Mary.
Congratulations, Class of 2025! May you shine brightly in the world as Marian leaders of faith, excellence, and service.
