As the Sisters of Mary Schools marks its 60th founding anniversary, the community is abuzz with joy and excitement. Alumni, faculty members, and the sisters themselves have come together to prepare a series of meaningful and engaging activities for the students — a celebration not only of the school’s rich history but also of its enduring mission.

On August 12, 2024, the ASMSI-Cebu chapter leads the festivities with a lineup of fun and interactive events designed to bring smiles and foster unity. These activities set the tone for the celebration filled with gratitude, camaraderie, and school spirit.

Adding to the excitement, on August 15, the sisters delight the students with a heartwarming presentation that reflects the school’s journey through the decades. 

On August 16, 2024, students prepare for the much-anticipated cultural event held annually, the Dance Palabas Competition. This year, the competition shines even brighter as it embraces the theme, “ONE SMS: 60 Years of Embracing Challenges, Envisioning Opportunities.” Dressed in vibrant costumes, student dance groups captivate the audience with dynamic performances that showcase their creativity, discipline, and unity. Each performance offers a unique take on the theme, reflecting the school’s journey and hopes for the future.

Students also had a blast at the Fun-Fair, where they enjoyed a variety of afternoon activities including karaoke singing, a movie marathon, game booths, and a photo booth — all thoughtfully prepared by their teachers. These joyful moments further strengthen the bonds between students and faculty, highlighting the spirit of celebration and gratitude that defines the 60th anniversary.

This milestone celebration not only honors the legacy of the Sisters of Mary Schools but also inspires a renewed commitment to its mission: to continue shaping lives and building a brighter future for generations to come.
