The solemnity of the Easter Triduum was deeply observed by our children and the Sisters in our community in Dodoma. Beginning on Holy Thursday, we celebrated Holy Mass at 5:00 PM, followed by adoration in our chapel. The Sisters and students, grouped by their respective family saints, had designated times for adoration in the chapel, continuing in prayer until Good Friday.
The students and Sisters prayed the Stations of the Cross on the school grounds at their preferred time in remembrance of Christ's suffering. A healing corner was set-up, offering a space for reflection. Each student took time to write down five blessings they were grateful for and five things for which they sought forgiveness. They then had the opportunity to touch one of Christ’s five wounds, offering prayers in a personal act of devotion.
The observance of the Stations of the Cross continued into Black Saturday, as the community remained in solemn reflection on Christ’s passion and death. In the evening, at 6:30 PM, the Carmelite Fathers led the community in the Easter Vigil Mass—a joyous celebration of Christ’s victory over death.
