On September 8, 2001, the Sisters of Mary established the Girlstown in Santa Maria, Brazil. On March 13, 2002, the Sisters opened the Maria Medical Clinic in Santa Maria to provide medical care. Later, on November 23, 2009, a Day Care Center was opened in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to support young children. These initiatives are part of the Sisters of Mary's broader mission to enhance education, healthcare, and child welfare in Brazil. The continued expansion reflects a commitment to addressing the needs of disadvantaged communities in the region. Currently, the Brasilia Girlstown & Day Care Center, and the Sao Paulo Elementary & Day Care Center are taking care of 1,377 students.
