CAVITE, PHILIPPINES - The Sisters of Mary community gathered last June 29, 2026 at the Sisters of Mary of Banneux, Inc. campus for a triple celebration. The day marked the 69th anniversary of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz’s ordination into the priesthood, the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, and the opening of the school year 2026–2027.
The event began with a gathering of sisters, faculty, students, support staff, alumni, brothers, and priests at the Virgin of the Poor Esplanade for a flower offering for Father Al.
Following this, the community moved to the school gymnasium for a Holy Mass to formally open the new academic year.
The activities concluded with the blessing of the campus school facilities.
Remembering Father Al's ordination during this joint celebration is especially meaningful, as his ordination on June 29, 1956, began his lifelong mission of serving others.
He subsequently founded the Sisters of Mary and the Brothers of Christ to provide free education, housing, and care to thousands of underprivileged youth across the Philippines and worldwide.
