Cavite, Philippines - The faculty members of the Sisters of Mary School-Girlstown, Inc. (SMSGI) embarked on a spiritually enriching Advent pilgrimage to Cavite, Philippines, Sr. Maria Chelo S. Marikit, SM, school principal.

The journey began with an engaging visit to The Mind Museum at Bonifacio Global City, where the faculty members were warmly welcomed by Mr. Charlie Rufino, President of the FACFI. The visit provided a stimulating experience as they explored the wonders of science and technology.

Following this, the faculty visited Meraki Tech Company, where they had the opportunity to observe students participating in their work immersion program. This visit underscored the importance of integrating academic learning with real-world applications, reinforcing SMSGI’s commitment to holistic education.

On December 6, 2024, the faculty’s spiritual journey deepened, beginning with a solemn 6:00AM Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Erick Orcullo. The morning was dedicated to moments of personal reflection, including confession, a visit to Fr. Al’s tomb and museum, and a period of adoration.

In the afternoon, the faculty participated in a profound spiritual talk delivered by Bro. Darwin Zuniga. The day concluded with heartfelt reflections and prayers, ending at 9:00 PM, leaving the participants spiritually renewed.

The next leg of the pilgrimage, on December 7, 2024, brought the faculty members to the Divine Mercy Church, where they attended Mass presided over once again by Rev. Fr. Erick Orcullo. They then journeyed to Tagaytay to offer prayers at the Pink Sisters Convent, embracing the serenity and grace of the sacred space.

In the afternoon, they were warmly received by Sr. Laresa N. Morasa, SM of Sisters of Mary School-Adlas, Inc.

The pilgrimage continued with a visit to the Brothers of Christ in Amadeo, where the faculty conducted a meaningful gift-giving activity. With hearts full of generosity, they presented gifts to the brothers and residents, fostering a spirit of love and compassion. Rev. Fr. Ignacio and the community expressed their gratitude for the kindness and support.

On December 8, 2024, the faculty members joined the students of SMSBI in a celebration of the Holy Mass. The students warmly welcomed the faculty, creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality and community spirit.

As the pilgrimage came to a close, the faculty members prepared to return to Cebu carrying with them renewed faith and a deeper sense of purpose. The Advent pilgrimage served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of faith, service, and lifelong learning, leaving an indelible mark on all who participated.
