In compliance with the requirements of the Department of Education (DepEd), the Sisters of Mary School-Boystown, Inc. conducted a synchronized fire and earthquake drill in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Minglanilla on March 27 to strengthen emergency preparedness and minimize panic during disasters.
The drill commenced with the sounding of a siren, signaling participants to immediately perform standard earthquake safety procedures. Students and staff promptly responded by executing proper safety protocols.
This was followed by a fire drill led by Fire Officer 1 (FO1) Neljun B. Galo, who guided participants through evacuation procedures and safety measures.
“This fire and earthquake drill is useful because it helps us be ready for real situations, knowing exactly what actions to take and where to go,” said Grade 12 student Romar John Dell Clemencio after the activity.
The initiative aimed to equip students and personnel with practical knowledge and readiness in responding to emergency situations, reinforcing the school’s commitment to safety and disaster preparedness.
