The Sisters of Mary School-Boystown, Inc. conducted its Miting de Avance for the 7th Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG) administration at the school gymnasium on March 17, 2026.
The program opened with a prayer led by Grade 8 Batch Representative Alexander James Tinamban, followed by opening remarks from Araling Panlipunan (AP) faculty member Sir Rene Colanag.
“The strength of the student government is not its officers—it lies in the active participation of its students,” Sir Colanag said.
The event was hosted by emcees Benedict James Jaropojop and John Lawrence Fabrigar.
An introduction of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) governing body was delivered by Joven Cabarillas. This was followed by an orientation from COMELEC President Mr. Jelson James Flores, who provided guidelines and reminders for the upcoming voting day.
The highlight of the program was the presentation of candidates by their respective campaign managers. Three party-lists are set to compete in the election: DALAN, SIGLA, and GABAY partylists.
The DALAN Partylist was introduced by Josh Andrew Gargaceran and Kent Logan Granada, followed by the SIGLA Partylist presented by Reneboy Austria and Richard Curay, and the GABAY Partylist introduced by Rex Ivan Serohijos and Jesryl Delfinado.
Each party presented its platform, outlining proposed plans and initiatives for the student body. These were followed by a debate segment, where party representatives critiqued one another’s proposals.
An open forum was also conducted, allowing students and faculty members to raise questions regarding the candidates’ platforms. Among those who participated were AP Subject Area Coordinator Ms. Evelyn Sitoy, Sir Rene Colanag, and a Grade 8 student.
The program concluded with a closing prayer led by Grade 8 Batch Representative Melbert Rosales.
