Minglanilla | Event
Minglanilla, Cebu—In celebration of the annual festival held for Sr. Santo Niño, the school, in response to the invitation sent by the officials of Purok Tuna and Primitiva Compound, showcased their talents after entertaining the people through dancing and singing during the event held last Saturday, January 31.
The event started with a parade led by the chosen students from the school who are bringing the child Jesus, followed by the townspeople and the students.
A mass presided over by an alumnus of the school—Fr. Lexter Caras, SDV—was held in the compound’s chapel, followed by him, along with the officials of the compound and purok, with Sr. Marchery F. Ado, SM, dancing the statue of Santo Niño as the tribute song was played on the recessional.
At 1 o’clock, the series of presentations began, starting with Minglanilla Idol Finalist JJ Collemar, the group 1 presenters from the G11 representatives, and the second group.
To make a twist to the event, Purok Tuna’s president, Mitch Encallado Bamboa, called out students from the school who can sing, which were Reniel Mansanadez and Jake Isulana, who performed a duet, and a solo from Mansanadez.
Furthermore, Minglanilla Idol 2024 grand finalist Christian Jay Barba performed a song dedicated to Santo Niño, which was then followed by the school’s Group 3 presenters.
The giving of the certificates of appreciation took place for the contributors to be acknowledged.
Keeping the momentum of the event, Bamboa requested the Aloysians Dance Troupe, who were fortunately there, to perform a surprise intermission.
The event ended with the Purok president giving the stage for Sr. Marchery to address her message of thanksgiving.
