Four senior high school students from the Sisters of Mary Schools (SMS) in the Philippines took part in the Taiwan Cultural Immersion Program and Taiwan Summer Camp held from August 11 to 17, 2025. The program was part of the 2025 ALV Camp, which gave participants opportunities to explore Taiwanese culture and facilitate classroom learning.
The selected students were John Benedict Agdon Prado (Grade 11, Minglanilla Campus), Roland David Tapit Bargo (Grade 11, Adlas Campus), Oshieniña Apas Gabutan (Grade 11, Talisay Campus), and Angel Monique Asistores Berdon (Grade 11, Biga Campus).
During the program, the students had hands-on experiences facilitating classroom teaching for young learners. They also collaborated with teachers from the Philippine Normal University (PNU), enriching their teaching perspectives.
The program was organized by ALV Education Organization, a company known for creating interactive English-learning experiences and fostering cultural exchange among Asian youth.
Beyond academics, the camp offered valuable cultural immersion. The students engaged with Taiwanese peers, learned about local customs, and participated in meaningful exchanges with children in the community.
This experience highlighted SMS students’ growing role as global learners and leaders, demonstrating their ability to represent the Philippines in international educational and cultural activities.
