The Spirit of the Game Lives On.

April 12, 2025 – Sneakers squeaked across the Gymnasium of Sisters of Mary School-Girlstown, Inc., host of the Rho Rho Futsal Invitational Cup 2025. Cheers and the rhythmic thud of the ball bouncing against the gym floor filled the venue, as young athletes from across Cebu Province gathered—not just to compete—but to build something far greater: a thriving futsal community.

Sponsored by The Henry V. Moran Foundation, a beacon of hope and change through education and community development, this event stood showing how sports can uplift lives and unite hearts. With teams competing in U13, U15, and U18 categories, the competition welcomed spirited youth from all across the province.

Amidst the shouts of encouragement, our very own SMS-Futsal Club battled with grit and grace under the guidance of Coach Marvin Cabasag. Though our U13 and U18 teams bowed out early, they played with unwavering determination, representing the values of discipline and perseverance that our school upholds.

But it was the U15 team that stole the spotlight. Out of seven formidable teams, they surged forward, play after play, game after game—showcasing sharp passes and lightning-fast footwork. In a heart-stopping final against the Barili Futsal Club, our girls played their hearts out. With a score 3-2 at the final whistle, in favor of the opponent, our SMS-Girlstown U15 finished second-place.

This wasn’t just about victory. It was about vision—a shared dream of using futsal as a bridge to connection, growth, and empowerment for the youth of Cebu. And through every kick, dive, and celebration, that vision came to life.

To our girls, you didn’t just play the game. You inspired it.
