The spirit of excellence and perseverance was once again on full display as the young athletes of Sisters of Mary School-Girlstown, Inc. represented Talisay City in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) 2025, held from March 10 to 17 in Bayawan, Negros Oriental. After a stellar performance at the Talisay City Athletic Association meet, the delegates continued to etch their names into the region’s sporting history, bagging bronze medals in Arnis and Table Tennis.

In a display of discipline, strength, and finesse, Princess Carla Marie Mana-ay clinched the bronze medal in the Arnis Featherweight category, marking a significant milestone for the entire Arnis team. Under the mentorship of Coach Mark Niño A. Sayson, Mana-ay showcased tactical precision and mental toughness throughout the tournament.

The Arnis event was a highlight of the combat sports division and drew considerable attention from spectators and judges alike.

Adding to the school’s medal haul, Danelle Marie Guingue captured the bronze medal in the Secondary Girls Singles Table Tennis category, after a gritty and competitive semi-final match against Mandaue City. Despite a 0–3 loss, Guingue’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament demonstrated her strong fundamentals, agility, and sportsmanship. She was coached by the ever-enthusiastic Antonni Clement Rondero, who has been instrumental in developing her strategic play and competitive mindset.

Both medalists have become an inspiration to their peers and younger student-athletes, proving that hard work and heart can take Aloysians far on the regional stage.
