Talisay | Students Achievements

The Sisters of Mary School-Girlstown, Inc. students and teachers prepares and participated in the Division Math Expo 2024 held on November 4–5, 2024, a dynamic event that brought together students from across the City of Talisay, Cebu division to compete in various math-related contests. Events included Damath for Grades 7 and 8, Math Quiz competitions for Grades 7 to 10, and a Poster Making Contest.

Our students delivered outstanding performances throughout the competition. In the Math Quiz category, the Grade 8 team of Ahsley Tagiamon and Mara Juadiong emerged as champions, along with the Grade 9 duo, Hyazinth Nicole Blancada and Lexia Michaela Sumbise, who also claimed the championship title. The Grade 10 team, Mariane Joy Abordo and Marielle Joy Alcantara, secured 3rd place, while the Grade 7 team of Kizziah Meryl Albiso and Meille Althea Heruela proudly brought home 4th place.

In the Damath event, Monica Dela Rosa dominated the Grade 7 category and was declared Champion, showcasing her strategic thinking and mastery of the game. Angela Rica Bastida, competing in the Grade 8 Damath division, earned a well-deserved 3rd place finish. Meanwhile, in the Poster Making Contest, Rheinah Robas impressed the judges with her creative interpretation of mathematical concepts, earning 3rd place overall.

These achievements highlight our students’ talent as they again dominated in the field of Mathematics.
