The Warehouse Sports Labs successfully hosted the Big Four Volleyball Tournament, a highly anticipated event that brought together young, aspiring volleyball athletes from across Cebu. The tournament, held from July 15-19, 2024, at Canduman, Mandaue City, provided a competitive platform for student-athletes to showcase their skills, determination, and teamwork.

The school’s volleyball teams participated in two categories; the under 15 (Beginners) and under 18 (Advanced). 

Both teams faced tough competition against some of the best volleyball squads in the region. Coached by Mr. Manny Z. Panilag, the Under 15 team displayed impressive performance throughout the tournament, securing a third-place finish after an intense battle in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the Under 18 team, despite their valiant effort and strong teamwork, ended the tournament in fifth place.

One of the standout moments of the tournament was the Bronze match, where Sandy Y. Canghagas delivered an exceptional performance, earning the title of Best Player for her outstanding contributions on the court. Her leadership, agility, and strategic plays were crucial in helping the team secure their podium finish.

The Big Four Volleyball Tournament not only highlighted the talent of Aloysian’s young volleyball players but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants. The event served as an inspiration for the next generation of athletes, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and teamwork in the pursuit of excellence.

Coach Panilag expressed his pride in his players, commending their hard work and resilience throughout the competition. He also emphasized the importance of continuous training and development to further enhance their skills in future tournaments.

With this remarkable experience, the school’s volleyball teams are more determined than ever to improve and aim for greater success in upcoming competitions.
