Batangas, Philippines — Mikaela Joy Grivialde and Merriam Pilay made history as the first SMBI journalists to qualify and compete in the recently concluded week-long 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) , held at the Batangas Cluster last February 10-14, 2025.

Grivialde and Pilay represented Cavite Province in the Editorial Writing category, with Grivialde competing in Filipino and placing 12th, while Pilay competed in English and secured 15th place. They competed against other talented participants from 22 divisions across Region IV-A CALABARZON.

Their journey began after winning at the 2024 Division Schools Press Conference in September. Following their victories, they underwent intense cliniquing, training, and reselection for months, which demonstrated their dedication and passion for the competition.

These Aloysian students bring pride to their community, showcasing their exceptional writing skills in both expressing opinions and presenting factual information on various pressing issues.
