MINGLANILLA, Cebu—The Sisters of Mary School Boystown Inc. secured a total of five gold, a silver, and two bronze medals at the Cebu Provincial Skills competition, earning the title of overall champion at the University of Cebu, Cebu City, from May 4 to 6, 2026, hosted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Cebu Province.

The school has participated in eight qualifications competing against technical vocational institutions, private universities, and public secondary schools, keeping pace with global standards of skills.

And among all the skillful participants, Aloysian has demonstrated excellent skills paired with talent.

From the qualification of cookery, Denmark Tonding with his coach Nikko Rommel Luague secured a gold medal; from the bread and pastry category, Jzer Vic Tahum with coach Anita R. Aballe earned a gold medal; and for electrical installation and maintenance, Harold Espere, together with his coach Sherwin Boiser, also acquired a gold medal.

While in Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Kent Cabatuan with coach Bernard Odiong won the top spot, as Jaycob Vanzuela with coach Mannilyn Catalan seized the fifth gold medal for the school.

For the silver medal, Joji Alipante and Jhon Mar Zaragosa, with their mentor Alan Panal in Mechatronics Servicing qualification, made it to second place, while in Automotive Technology, James Andrie Soco, with coach Paul Joeryn Camariosa, achieved a bronze medal.

Lastly, Flinston Figuracion with his coach Maria Jiza Berdos for web technology also nabbed a bronze medal.

Even though the school had not offered Cookery and Web Technology qualifications still, the students hit World Skills marking.

Now, the gold medalists are currently practicing for their regional meet on May 22 to 26 against the participants from Bohol.
