One of the Chess Gambits member of the Sisters of Mary School-Boystown showcased sharp minds and strategic brilliance, with Jhon Niño M. Babon emerging as one of Minglanilla’s standout performers.
Competing in events, Babon captured bronze medals in both Rapid Chess and Blitz Chess categories, demonstrating exceptional focus, quick decision-making, and composure under pressure. His performance contributed significantly to his team’s overall success in the tournament held from February 15 to 20.
Presenting Minglanilla, Babon competed under the guidance of coach Ms.Lourdes P. Zamboangnon, whose leadership helped hone the team’s tactical approach and mental discipline.
